Basketball Game Preview: Jesuit Crusaders vs. Lakeridge Pacers

The Jesuit Crusaders and the Lakeridge Pacers will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jesuit is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Jefferson just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Democrats an easy 49-29 win. The loss was the Crusaders' first of the season.

Jesuit's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amani Lubrano, who posted nine points, and Reese Filkins, who earned eight points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Jesuit smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Lakeridge had to suffer through a 63-20 loss at the hands of Southridge. The Pacers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jesuit fell to 3-1. As for Lakeridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Jesuit's way against Lakeridge in their previous matchup back in January, as Jesuit made off with a 56-30 victory. Will Jesuit repeat their success, or does Lakeridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
