Baseball Game Preview: Grenada Chargers vs. Eupora Eagles

The Grenada Chargers will take on the Eupora Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Grenada took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand West Point a 10-0 shutout. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Brayden Trusty, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep West Point off the board. Trusty also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grenada is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Klinck, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Preston Downs was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Eupora made easy work of Grenada and carried off an 8-0 victory. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

The win got Eupora back to even at 3-3. As for Grenada, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
