Basketball Game Preview: Mound City Panthers vs. DeKalb Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mound City Panthers face off against the DeKalb Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, everything went Mound City's way against Polo as Mound City made off with a 52-27 win. Mound City has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, DeKalb had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down South Holt 55-41 on Wednesday.

Mound City is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for DeKalb, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Mound City beat DeKalb 40-32 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mound City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
