Basketball Recap: Houston Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Houston extended their road winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Aubry Boldt. The Houston Hurricanes secured a 51-47 W over the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics on Thursday thanks in part to Boldt, who posted 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Emily Botcher, who earned eight points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Houston has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive rebounds: they averaged an imposing 8.27 offensive boards in those games compared to only 8.27 in the others. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Houston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-34 defeat against Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton on the 31st. Lyle/Pacelli has also already played their next match (against LeRoy-Ostrander), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
