Volleyball Recap: Grant Rodriguez and Adrian Escolano Secure Win for Poway

There's no place like home for Poway, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Otay Ranch Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

Poway walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 25-15.

Poway was led to victory by Adrian Escolano and Grant Rodriguez. Escolano had nine digs and three assists, while Rodriguez had five digs and three assists. That's the most assists Rodriguez has posted over his last 11 matches.

Poway pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Otay Ranch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Poway and Otay Ranch will both be playing Del Norte the next time they take the court. Poway will host Del Norte at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Otay Ranch will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
