Baseball Recap: Clay County Takes a Loss

Jackson County hit Clay County with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 7-6. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Blue Devils since on Monday.

Clay County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Adams, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. The Bulldogs are 5-1 when Adams posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. Aiden Keen was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Clay County and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for Jackson County, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-19.

As of now, neither Clay County nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
