Basketball Recap: Sebastian River Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Sebastian River won the last time they faced St. Edward and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sebastian River Sharks took down the St. Edward's Pirates 65-51.

St. Edward's loss came despite strong showings from Gary Anderson and Cody Simmonds. Anderson went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points along with seven boards and seven blocks, while Simmonds went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Wyatt Burdick was another key player, putting up nine points.

Sebastian River has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for St. Edward's, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Sebastian River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-58 win against Heritage on the 27th. St. Edward's has also already played their next game (against Pineapple Cove Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
