Baseball Recap: West Broward Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Broward waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks.

Angel Figueroa looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, West Broward saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah DelValle, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

West Broward's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Broward will challenge St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (West Broward 3.4, St. Thomas Aquinas 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they are taking a road trip to square off against Blue Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5 runs per game on average), something Miller School of Albemarle will no doubt try to take advantage of.
