Basketball Recap: Veterans Memorial Wins Going Away Against Lyford

Veterans Memorial picked up another tournament win on Friday. They strolled past the Lyford Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 58-41.

Veterans Memorial's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Lyford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Veterans Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-51 defeat against Harlingen on the 13th. Lyford will take on Santa Rosa in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Rosa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Lyford likes a good challenge.
