Recap: Marian Catholic vs. Weatherly

Marian Catholic scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Weatherly. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Marian Catholic has managed all season.

It was another big night for Julius Currie, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jesse Rodino, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Weatherly's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Corbin Wagner, who scored 17 points. The contest was Wagner's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Mckeegan, who scored ten points along with six assists.

Even though they lost, Weatherly were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Marian Catholic's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Weatherly, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.

Marian Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Jim Thorpe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jim Thorpe comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Weatherly will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bucktail at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th.
