Basketball Recap: Reagan Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Reagan won the last time they faced East Forsyth and things went their way on Friday too. The Reagan Raiders had just enough and edged the East Forsyth Eagles out 42-40. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders who have now won four contests in a row.

Reagan had a senior duo take command as Avery Corbin went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points and Grace Galyon posted 12 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Corbin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alissa Young, who scored five points and three steals.

Alyssa Jessup and Destiny Hill certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jessup had 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Hill earned seven points and three steals. Jessup has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Landry Tsujii was another key player, putting up five points.

Reagan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. As for East Forsyth, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Reagan is taking a road trip to square off against R.J. Reynolds at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reagan has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests. As for East Forsyth, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 43-33 win against Lexington on the 18th.
