Softball Recap: Georgetown-Ridge Farm Comes Up Short at Home Against Arcola

Georgetown-Ridge Farm unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Arcola Purple Riders on Tuesday, falling 13-5. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.

Chloe Stephenson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Georgetown-Ridge Farm saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annistyn Tovey, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown-Ridge Farm will host Oakwood on Saturday. As for Arcola, they will face off against LeRoy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
