Football Game Preview: Mathews vs. Northumberland

Northumberland will square off against Mathews at 7:00 PM on Tuesday. Northumberland don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

Northumberland might be getting used to good results now that the team has seven wins in a row. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Colonial Beach 35-34. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.

Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Mathews lost to West Point last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 0-65. Mathews were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-37.

Everything came up roses for Northumberland against Mathews the last time the two teams met as the squad secured a 51-0 win.
