Football Game Preview: Cerritos Dons vs. West Warriors

The Cerritos Dons will face off against the West Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Cerritos put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. They blew past Wilson 53-17. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Wildcats are ranked 772nd).

Special teams played a big role in the game for Cerritos, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Labrenten Wilson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, West didn't have quite enough to beat South on Friday and fell 34-31.

The win made it two in a row for Cerritos and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points over those games. As for West, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-3.
