Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Catholic Celtics vs. Bishop Snyder Cardinals

The Trinity Catholic Celtics will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Bishop Snyder Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Trinity Catholic is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Union County. Trinity Catholic walked away with a 10-6 win over Union County on Monday.

Colton Hardy looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Nick Tanko was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Tommy Silva was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Bishop Snyder was able to grind out a solid victory over Baldwin on Thursday, taking the game 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Cody Boshell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Silver, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Trinity Catholic couldn't quite finish off Bishop Snyder in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Trinity Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
