Softball Recap: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. Thomasville Bulldogs
East Davidson put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thomasville Bulldogs a 17-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for East Davidson who now have four in a row.
Nikki Beal was a standout: she went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was ALYSSA STALEY, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
East Davidson pushed their record up to 11-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Thomasville, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Davidson will take on North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Davidson knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past three games -- so hopefully North Rowan likes a good challenge. As for Thomasville, they are on the road again on Thursday to play T.W. Andrews at 6:00 p.m.
