Volleyball Recap: Trinity Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Charlee Phillips and Avalynn Johnson

The Trinity Bulldogs came up short against the Leadership Academy Falcons on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

While Trinity had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Trinity's loss came despite strong showings from Avalynn Johnson and Charlee Phillips. Johnson had six digs and three aces, while Phillips had seven digs and two aces. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 28 games she's played dating back to last season.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Leadership Academy, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Trinity wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Oak Grove on the 14th. As for Leadership Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ledford at 6:15 p.m.
