Baseball Recap: Middle Park Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alameda, Middle Park was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Platte Canyon Huskies 14-6. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Noah Hunter looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Middle Park is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Diogui Laynes was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-5. Those runs were his first of the season. William Trail was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Middle Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Middle Park's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Platte Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Middle Park is set to challenge their familiar foe Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Platte Canyon will take on rival Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
