Softball Recap: Quakertown Comes Up Short

Quakertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-4 to the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Leah Schwalm and Kira Jefferson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Schwalm scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Jefferson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ellie Hilton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Quakertown's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Quakertown will take on rival Hatboro-Horsham at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Plymouth Whitemarsh is set to challenge their familiar foe Wissahickon at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
