Volleyball Recap: Nerinx Hall Comes Up Short

Nerinx Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ursuline Academy Bears. If the Markers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Bears when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nerinx Hall took Ursuline Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-14, 23-25, 15-9.

June Johnson paced Nerinx Hall's offense, picking up 12 kills. Johnson got some help from Sophia Berra and her 18 assists. Leah Stephens controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Nerinx Hall's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Ursuline Academy, their record is now 6-3.

Nerinx Hall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Kirkwood on the 16th. As for Ursuline Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against St. Pius X on the 16th.
