Baseball Recap: 14 Straight Home Victories for Parrish Community

Parrish Community barely beat Palmetto the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulls blew past the Tigers 14-4 on Thursday. Considering the Bulls have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Daniel Norbeck looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Cripe was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Ja'Brien Quiles was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Parrish Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmetto only posted an OBP of .296.

Parrish Community pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Palmetto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-18.

Parrish Community and Palmetto are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulls will challenge Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Mustangs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Palmetto, they will face off against Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
