If Cajon was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Miller last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cajon Cowboys fell just short of the Beaumont Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Cowboys' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Cajon took Beaumont into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Among those leading the charge was Leandro Torres, who had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most aces he has posted over his last four contests.

Cajon's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Beaumont, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Cajon and Beaumont should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Cajon (ranked 130th) will meet Redlands East Valley (ranked 507th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Beaumont will take on Yucaipa at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday up 289 places (63 vs. 352).
