Softball Recap: Tolar Victorious

Tolar proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 22) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Breckenridge Buckaroos, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rattlers have posted since February 22nd.

Lillie Uselton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Lane Gardner was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Massey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Tolar is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Breckenridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13-1.

Coming up, Tolar will look to defend their home field on Friday against Millsap at 5:00 p.m. As for Breckenridge, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dublin at 5:00 p.m. on the 11th.
