Baseball Recap: Bedford Victorious

Bedford hadn't done well against Lorain recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bearcats walked away with a 14-11 victory over the Titans. This was a revenge game for the Bearcats: when they faced off against the Titans on Monday, they had to take a 10-7 defeat.

JJ Hudson and Ryan Porter did most of the damage at the plate: Hudson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Porter got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Damarion Gordon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

The win got Bedford back to even at 5-5. As for Lorain, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bedford will welcome Warrensville Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Lorain, they will host Clearview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
