Football Recap: Beckville Has No Trouble Against Big Sandy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elysian Fields, Beckville was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Big Sandy Wildcats a 56-0 shutout. That looming 56-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bearcats yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beckville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jorden Prince, who rushed for 133 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Bullock, who threw for 163 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Beckville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rudy Watts, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The win got Beckville back to even at 3-3. As for Big Sandy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beckville will square off against Waskom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Big Sandy, they will challenge Elysian Fields at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Yellowjackets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
