Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for O'bannon

O'Bannon entered their tilt with Simmons on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 12-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-22 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Kentravion Castion, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Matthew Kingdom was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: O'Bannon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

O'Bannon's record now sits at 14-3. As for Simmons, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coming up, O'Bannon will be playing at home against Yazoo County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greenwaves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Simmons, they will square off against Riverside at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
