Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Charlotte walked away with it. They walked away with a 59-47 victory over the Palmetto Tigers on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Fightin' Tarpons who have now won nine contests in a row.

Charlotte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dior Evans, who posted 18 points and four steals. That's the most points Evans has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Taylor, who made all 5 shots he took for 9 points and six rebounds.

Charlotte's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Palmetto, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Charlotte will face off against Sunlake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Charlotte knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Sunlake likes a good challenge. As for Palmetto, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
