Softball Recap: Epping's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Epping had lost five games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 10-9 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Portsmouth Christian Academy Eagles a 5-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Eagles on Friday, they had to take a 6-1 defeat.

As for Portsmouth Christian Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Portsmouth Christian Academy's part, Lexi Jordan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. Jordan has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
