Basketball Recap: DeRidder Takes a Loss

DeRidder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Washington-Marion Charging Indians, falling 77-43. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.

MONTE FARMER continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Washington-Marion, putting up 27 points. With that strong performance, FARMER is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was ASHTON SAVOIE, who posted 13 points.

DeRidder's loss dropped their record down to 5-28. As for Washington-Marion, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-11.

Looking ahead, DeRidder will head out to square off against Kaplan on Tuesday. As for Washington-Marion, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Iowa at 7:00 p.m. Washington-Marion is on a three-game streak of home wins, Iowa a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
