Mitchell came tearing into Thursday's contest with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lecanto Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Mitchell had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.

Mitchell had a senior duo take command as Lily Unger had 25 digs and two aces and Emma Hatzistefanou had six digs and two aces. Hatzistefanou also set a new season-high mark in assists with 30.

Mitchell was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Mitchell's record now sits at 15-1. As for Lecanto, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Sunlake on the 1st. As for Lecanto, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against The Villages Charter on the 29th.
