Baseball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Thomas Jefferson Spartans didn't have quite enough to beat the Pomona Panthers and fell 8-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shepard Schneider was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Walsh, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Thomas Jefferson now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Pomona, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1.

Coming up, Thomas Jefferson will square off against Discovery Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Discovery Canyon knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Thomas Jefferson likes a good challenge. As for Pomona, they will challenge Mountain Range at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain Range is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
