Basketball Recap: Nylea Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Banning over Arroyo Valley

Banning and Arroyo Valley squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Banning had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Arroyo Valley Hawks by a score of 26-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Broncos have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Banning lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nylea Smith, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Symora Prince, who earned six points and eight boards.

Banning's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Arroyo Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-16.

As of now, neither Banning nor Arroyo Valley have any future games scheduled.
