Gate City had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Abingdon Falcons out 42-40. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-43 back in January.

Gate City's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Abingdon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Gate City will host Hampton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Abingdon, they are taking a road trip to take on John Battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
