Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Mavericks vs. Owyhee Storm

Mountain View hasn't had much luck against Owyhee recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mavericks will challenge the Storm at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mountain View comes in on three and Owyhee on four.

On Monday, Mountain View beat Boise 15-12.

Meanwhile, Owyhee put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let Meridian get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Meridian's batters probably weren't too happy with Hailey Brennan, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Brennan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grace Groulx was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Bock, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Owyhee lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian didn't launched any.

Mountain View's record is now 13-6. As for Owyhee, their record now sits at 22-2.

Mountain View came up short against Owyhee in their previous meeting back in March, falling 7-2. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
