Basketball Game Preview: La Lumiere Lakers vs. Long Island Lutheran Crusaders

The La Lumiere Lakers will take on the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. La Lumiere has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Long Island Lutheran will come in with seven straight victories.

La Lumiere is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Wasatch Academy, who was ranked fifth in their home state at the time (La Lumiere was ranked seventh). La Lumiere took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wasatch Academy on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Long Island Lutheran didn't have too much breathing room in their game against AZ Compass Prep on Sunday, but they still walked away with a 63-57 win.

La Lumiere's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Long Island Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

La Lumiere lost to Long Island Lutheran on the road by a decisive 82-65 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can La Lumiere avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
