Soccer Game Preview: Carencro vs. David Thibodaux

The Carencro Bears will head out on the road to challenge the David Thibodaux Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carencro will be strutting in after a victory while David Thibodaux will be coming in after a loss.

Carencro took a four-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Westgate, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Tigers on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for Carencro as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, David Thibodaux lost 5-2 to Teurlings Catholic on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, David Thibodaux can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Teurlings Catholic are ranked third).

This is the second loss in a row for David Thibodaux and nudges their season record down to 8-5-1. As for Carencro, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Carencro might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from David Thibodaux in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
