Basketball Game Preview: Mason Bulldogs vs. Marshall Redhawks

The Mason Bulldogs will take on the Marshall Redhawks in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are still undefeated (Mason has four wins , while Marshall has five dating back to last season).

If Mason beats Marshall with 65 points on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Mason had just enough and edged Haslett out 65-63.

While Marshall didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Pennfield 48-31 on Friday.

Mason pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Mason took their win against Marshall in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 72-50. Does Mason have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marshall turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
