Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Find Success

Calvary Christian Academy hadn't done well against Lexington recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Calvary Christian Academy Knights had just enough and edged the Lexington Minutemen out 35-33. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Minutemen two weeks ago, they had to take a 36-21 defeat.

The victory made it two in a row for Calvary Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-6. As for Lexington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Calvary Christian Academy and Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Lexington, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on LeRoy at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
