Softball Recap: Parrish Community Beats Crystal River for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Parrish Community came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Crystal River Pirates by a score of 4-1.

Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cassidy Ott, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Kyndal France was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Parrish Community's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Crystal River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Parrish Community will venture away from home to take on Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Parrish Community 2.2, Sarasota 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Crystal River, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Yulee on the 29th.
