Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Takes a Loss

Mitchell hit Bloomfield with a five-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals fell just short of the Bluejackets by a score of 9-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Aiden Scott stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andrew Barker, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mitchell, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will host Evansville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mitchell, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Springs Valley at 11:00 a.m.
