Volleyball Recap: Harrison Raiders vs. Mt. Vernon Marauders
After flying high against Zionsville on Saturday, Harrison came back down to earth. The Harrison Raiders fell just short of the Mt. Vernon Marauders by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Despite the loss, Harrison still got an impressive performance from Kaylee Swihart, who had 13 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Swihart has posted in she last eight contests.
Leading Mt. Vernon to victory were Avery Delello and Makenna Thompson. Delello had 23 digs and two aces, while Thompson had 14 digs.
Harrison has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Mt. Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Harrison will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Rossville at 7:00 p.m. Rossville is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats at home, meaning Harrison will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Mt. Vernon, they will welcome Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
