Basketball Recap: Ava Roseberry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Valley over London

River Valley was the 50-38 winner over London when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The River Valley Vikings fell to the London Red Raiders 48-42. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Roseberry, who posted nine points and eight boards. Myla Kenney was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, River Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

River Valley's record is now 6-13. As for London, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

River Valley will host Galion at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. River Valley is facing Galion at the right time seeing as Galion is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for London, they will venture away from home to face off against Tecumseh at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. London will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Tecumseh will have lost three straight heading into Saturday's game.
