Recap: Tree of Life Christian Trojans vs. Fairfield Christian Academy Knights
The Tree of Life Christian Trojans's game on Saturday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 61-48 to Fairfield Christian Academy. Tree of Life Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fairfield Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
When it comes to explaining why Tree of Life Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ronald Amoah. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Mason Sanders was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Tree of Life Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Fairfield Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Workman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Workman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Vance, who scored 17 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Tree of Life Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Tree of Life Christian will finish 2023 at home by hosting Mechanicsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mechanicsburg is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Fairfield Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Warren at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Warren has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 427 points over their last six games.
