Recap: Oxford Yellow Jackets vs. Ohatchee Indians

In what's become a running theme this season, the Oxford Yellow Jackets gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They breezed by Ohatchee on the road to the tune of 69-21. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Oxford has managed all season.

Oxford found their leader in underclassman Ava Thomas, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Xaionna Whitfield was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

The victory was the third in a row for Oxford, bringing their record for this year to 11-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Ohatchee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Oxford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jacksonville at 3:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Jacksonville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday. As for Ohatchee, they will be playing at home against Wellborn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
