Softball Game Preview: Pope County Pirates vs. Gallatin County Hawks

Pope County is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing at home against the Gallatin County Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Pope County has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pope County lost 16-6 to Benton on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Gallatin County got the win against Meridian two weeks ago by a conclusive 22-8.

The victory got Gallatin County back to even at 1-1. As for Pope County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything went Pope County's way against Gallatin County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Pope County made off with a 16-3 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
