Nashoba Regional has gone a perfect 9-0 against North Middlesex Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. Nashoba Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Nashoba Regional came up short against Leominster and fell 9-6. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jenna Gael was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Smith, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Middlesex Regional, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Groton-Dunstable by a score of 8-4 on Thursday.
Emily Archambault was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Bianca Lake was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Elisea Gutierrez also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Nashoba Regional's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for North Middlesex Regional, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
North Middlesex Regional's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nashoba Regional hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for North Middlesex Regional, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Nashoba Regional's hitters?
Nashoba Regional took their win against North Middlesex Regional in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
