Volleyball Recap: Quad Cities Christian Comes Up Short

Quad Cities Christian's tournament run continued when they took on East Moline United on Saturday. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Quad Cities Christian sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 13-25, 15-13.

Ambrielle Martin paced Quad Cities Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Martin got some help from Maddy Bollinger and her 11 assists. Bollinger also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ayda Kyer, racking up two apiece.

Quad Cities Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for East Moline United, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-4.

Quad Cities Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 win against Manual on the 13th. As for East Moline United, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Geneseo on the 16th.
