Baseball Recap: Aucilla Christian Find Success

After losing to Rickards the last time they met, Aucilla Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Aucilla Christian Warriors came out on top against the Rickards Raiders by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Caleb Walker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Wiles, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Aucilla Christian: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Hudson Mills also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Aucilla Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rickards struck out 14 times.

Aucilla Christian's record is now 8-6. As for Rickards, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Coming up, Aucilla Christian will square off against Madison County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rickards, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rickards is facing Jefferson County at the right time seeing as Jefferson County is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
