Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Greenfield-Central

Greenfield-Central had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Madison Sonsini did her part to make it four on Friday. The Greenfield-Central Cougars took their match with ease, bagging a 65-37 win over the Tri Titans thanks in part to Sonsini, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jillian Chew, who posted 12 points and four steals. Chew is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakaya Cridge, who had six points and seven boards.

Greenfield-Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Tri, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenfield-Central will square off against New Palestine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Union County at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th.
