Basketball Game Preview: Riverbank Bruins vs. Escalon Cougars

Riverbank and Escalon are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Riverbank Bruins will jump right back in to play the Escalon Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Riverbank has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 25.

Riverbank saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a blow against Ripon Christian, falling 73-35. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1237th, while the Knights are ranked 417th).

Meanwhile, Escalon came up short against Johansen on Friday and fell 63-54. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Escalon's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Riverbank, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Riverbank and Escalon were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Riverbank came up empty-handed after a 66-65 loss. Thankfully for Riverbank, Ethan Garza (who went 11 of 21 on his way to 30 points and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
